Hi, I am Kat.

In 2014, almost one year after launching my business, I had an “aha” moment alone in my hospital room while on bedrest, pregnant with my second son. The fitness industry is failing women and mothers.

Pregnancy through postpartum is a highly pressurized time, and the problematic philosophies society places on women and mothers to “get your pre-baby body back quickly & at all costs”  to accept that pelvic floor, aches, and pains are the prices you pay because you chose to have a baby is unacceptable.

There in my hospital bed, we deserved better. I rebranded my business to KatFit and embarked on my mission to help educate and empower women to gain strength through motherhood by providing tools to redefine their relationship with their body and worth.

Why am I so passionate about KatFit’s mission?
I have felt utterly helpless in a body I thought failed me and on the verge of giving up on my recovery from my second and highly complex C-section where they needed to make 4-incisions to ensure they could bring my son into the world alive and then save my life but a little voice deep down inside of me whispered,
"I am worth it."

It is a simple and short statement but one that holds great power. When I realized I was worth it during my recovery, I slowly (very slowly) began to find the strength to move again.  My "why" statement ignites my burning passion for never quitting... I may need to rest, but I will never give up on myself because I AM WORTH IT. I do not work out or challenge myself for vanity or bragging rights. My fitness is for me.  My fitness and goals will always be a work in progress because I know I am not doing it for anyone else but solely for me because I AM WORTH IT.
